This disables all internet access from Rhino, including automatic updates detection and download, sending anonymous usage statistics, online help, splash screen news and tips, downloading of rendering textures, access to the Cloud Zoo, and other features that try to access the internet.

Please do not use a cracked copy of Rhino. I recommend you put your Rhino 7 evaluation license or the license you buy in a Rhino Account that you can set up when starting Rhino. Step 1: Well be using Rhino 7 every week, so youll need Rhino 7 for Windows or Mac installed on your computer. Which means you can deduct it as an expense on your taxes, pretty cool right!?! You'll own it forever without annual maintenance fees and can use it legally before and after you graduate for commercial design work. Your purchase will be a commercial license sold at an educational discount and then further discounted due to RISD carrying it in the bookstore. Last I checked this was around $80 instead of the normal $195 educational or $995 commercial cost.

Go to or contact the RISD bookstore and buy a copy of Rhino 7, the license is cross platform and can be used on Rhino 7 for Mac or Windows. If you've already run the Rhino 7 evaluation for Windows or Mac and the 90 day period has expired, you'll need to buy a license to participate in the course. Please contact me, if you have any issues. You can of course use a trackpad on a laptop if you prefer but it's much slower in my opinion. Get a three button mouse or use a tablet that allows three button mapping via the stylus. N ote that Apple Silicon (M1s) don't allow bootcamp of Windows. M1 Macs are supported using any recent macOS. Make sure you are on 10.14.6 or higher for Rhino 7.

If you work on macOS, graphic card drivers are updated with macOS updates. All Rhino 7 plugins might work with Rhino 8 let us know if they don’t. Often they are not stable or production-ready. Also make certain your graphics card has a recent driver installed on your Windows OS or Windows bootcamp partition if running Windows on a Mac. If you run Windows, Make sure you're up to date with important Microsoft updates prior to running the Rhino installer to avoid installation errors.
Please review the system requirements for Rhino 7 for Windows and Mac Rhino 7 for Windows has lots of plugin possibilities that you won't have on Mac but otherwise the two versions are almost the exact same feature set and using either is fine for this class. If your email or your computer have prev iously had a Rhino 7 evaluation, new evaluations will not work (see step 2). After 90 days you won't be able to save files or run plugins using the evaluation license. The evaluation version of Rhino 7 works for 90 days fully featured, you will be emailed an evaluation license to use. Please do not use a cracked copy of Rhino, this will result in issues I can't resolve while also exposing yourself to spy and malware threats. We'll be using Rhino 7 every week, so you'll need Rhino 7 for Windows or Mac installed on your computer.
